When you travel to Indonesia, the trip would not be complete if you have not tasted the local food. Eat what the locals eat.
We had our first Indonesian meal in Parapat. As Parapat is a small town, and if we want to have Chinese food there, the tour guide did inform us not to expect too much from the food, as the Chinese food in Medan would taste better.
As such, we have decided to go for Indonesian food, which I guess is a better option. We had our Indonesian gastronomic adventure in Restoran Istana Minang 2 - skip the hotel restaurant, of course, and head to a local restaurant instead.
