The 2003 Children's Day Celebration brought great significance, as it was the Golden Jubilee celebration of this world event in honouring and cherishing the children of the world.
The first World Children's Day was celebrated in 1953 by the International Union for Child Welfare. In the following year, the United Nation's Children's Fund (UNICEF) officially recognised and celebrated the World Children's Day. The World Children's Day was officially sanctioned by the United Nations 5 year later in 1959.
Malaysia celebrated its first World Children's Day on 8 Oct 1959, held at the National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
The World Children's Day celebration in 2003 served as the platform to extend our hands, and ensuring that the younger generations receive the nurturing and love that is due to them.

A LIL' NOTE
Children's Day used to be one of my favourite events when I was young. Various activities, and foods, were available on this day in my school, in conjunction with this celebration. Something from the past, which I truly cherish.
