Malaysian Unity

Pos Malaysia issued a set of 3 stamps on Malaysian Unity as part of National Day celebration in 2002, with the 50 sen stamp depicting the various races and indigenous people of Malaysia; while the se-tenant 30 sen stamps depicting the multi-cultural aspect of Malaysia.

The ethnic of Malays, Chinese, Indians and the numerous indigenous people of Malaysia form a fascinating potpourri of a multi-cultural and multi-racial population. As such, Malaysian Unity is of paramount importance.

Although each race maintains its individuality in terms of traditions and community structures, the overall cultural mosaic is well integrated to create a contemporary Malaysia, rich in its diverse heritage.

One of the most interesting form of cultural and racial interaction is the practise of "open house" during festive celebrations, effectively breaking down cultural and racial barriers, thus cultivating greater understanding amongst all races.
