Namsangol Hanok Village, Seoul

Namsangol Hanok Village, also known as "A Village of Traditional Houses in the Namsan Valley", is located in the area of Pil-dong neighbourhood in Jung-gu, a central district of Seoul.

In building Namsangol Traditional Garden, the original terrain shape and pavilions as well as ponds were restored. Native trees and grasses were planted, and the valley was built to enable natural flow of water.

Namsangol Hanok Village is a collection of five hanoks, i.e. Korean traditional houses, from the Joseon Dynasty. To help visitors understand traditional Korean life, furniture that reflects the status of the people who lived in these various houses are placed inside the buildings. The interiors of these hanoks reflect people from different walks of life, from royalty to commoners.

Visitors can participate in traditional Korean activities such as archery and enjoy traditional Korean performances there. Have missed these activities and performances, but somehow managed to catch a local performing straw craft.
