Wong Kei Tau Foo Fa 旺记祖传豆腐花, Bercham

A random post on tau foo fa, one of my favourite desserts.

Tau foo fa (豆腐花), also known as soy bean pudding, is a delicious silken tofu dessert eaten with a clear syrup infused with ginger or pandan.

There are many stalls or outlets selling tau foo fa out there; one of the best I have tried thus far is from this roadside stall in Bercham (Chinese : 巴占), a suburb of Ipoh next to the North-South Expressway in Perak, Malaysia.

The tau foo fa from this stall is of really silky smooth texture, with a choice of syrup in ginger, white sugar or brown sugar. Not too touristy, it's where the locals go for tau foo fa. It costs less than RM2 for a bowl. Take away is slightly more expensive, but the portion is also bigger for take away.

Definitely a heaven to the taste bud. Brought friends as well as colleagues to this stall before; verdict - they love it.
