Christmas 2006

As is customary with Australia Post Christmas stamp issues, the Christmas stamps issue in 2006 engages with aspects of the traditional Christmas story, depicting scenes from the story surrounding Christ's birth.

The 45c stamp depicts the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus in her arms.

The 50c stamp depicts one of the three Magi bearing a gift of frankincense for the Christ child.

The AU$1.05 stamp depicts a young shepherd boy bathed in the light of the Angel of Annunciation.

Each stamp conveys a sense of reverence and the spirit of this foundational Christian story.
