On 12 Dec 2001, at the 208th (special) Meeting of the Conference of Rulers in Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, the Sultan of Terengganu, was elected the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong for a term of 5 years from 13 Dec 2006 to 12 Dec 2011.
His Majesty was formally installed as Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 26 Apr 2007, with the title Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
Elected at age 44, as of now, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin is the third youngest Yang di-Pertuan Agong, after Tuanku Syed Putra of Perlis (3rd Yang di-Pertuan Agong) and Tuanku Abdul Halim of Kedah (5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong), who were elected at age 40 and 43 respectively.
His Majesty was appointed as the Crown Prince of Terengganu on 6 Nov 1979, and much later as the Acting Sultan of Terengganu on 20 Jun 1986 and for the second time from 21 Oct to 8 Nov 1990.
His Majesty was appointed the Sultan of Terengganu on 15 May 1998 following the death of his father, the late Sultan Mahmud, and was crowned as the 17th Sultan of Terengganu on 4 Mar 1999.
Pos Malaysia issued above set of 3 stamps to commemorate the installation of His Majesty as the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 26 Apr 2007.
